Collages in my sketchbook of photographs I've taken of my piece Room 2019
I wanted to create large installation pieces - rooms people could walk through and be lost in. But I had nowhere to store that amount of work. I realized I could express my ideas in miniature and avoid issues related to storage. 'Room' was inspired by the work of Carl Jung and the haunting idea that archetypical bodies play out their own independent lives within each of our subconscious psyches. I like the idea of independent roaming bodies and understood the space of my psyche in the form of an impossible home. Room is a visual representation of these ideas.
