Our histories, habits and emotions are mapped in the mass of waste we generate and leave behind. I often work with litter reclaiming whatever is available. I’m interested in creating artwork with materials that are accessible, inexpensive or free. Art can be created with anything. I walk, gather and collect; what I find determines what I create. The work celebrates interactions with the people and spaces around me. It also promotes low-tech, cheap art which can be accessed by anyone. Art should be for everyone. Awkward silence was made with twigs, re-claimed electrical wires given to me by my dad (he works in I.T), a house plant set in concrete in a plastic container found on the street I used to live on, milk bottles from my neighbor Maggie's recycling bin, cardboard, newspaper pulp, house paint, expanding foam, house paint from my mums shed and wire. 2021
