In January 2019 I was lucky enough to receive a placement on a Erasmus funded residency in Cyprus. 

The out-of-season island - or what I saw of it - felt unusual and bleak. It rained a lot whilst we were there. Spaces designed for luxury summer tourism were deserted and temporarily useless.

A luxury space for tourists is empty during out of season 2019

Blue metal rods line the top of many buildings. A tax introduced on 2nd floors in buildings halts construction. There are a lot of unfinished buildings.
